Wood blinds Los Angeles

Parkland® Real Wood Blinds

Parkland® blinds are crafted from 100% genuine basswood — one of the lightest hardwoods available — which allows larger slat sizes to be raised and lowered without cords feeling heavy or stiff. The result is a blind that operates as smoothly on a tall window as it does on a standard one.

  • 100% genuine real basswood construction
  • Over 50+ rich stain and paint color choices
  • Classic 2" and 2½" slat sizes
  • Advanced finishing technology for maximum durability
  • Decorative cloth tapes available in dozens of patterns
  • Motorized lift option for high or hard-to-reach windows

EverWood® Faux Wood Blinds

EverWood® faux wood blinds have the warm visual character of real wood but are engineered to withstand the humidity, temperature swings, and direct sunlight that cause genuine wood to warp or fade over time. This makes them the preferred choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and any room with large west-facing windows that take the brunt of afternoon sun.

  • Perfect for high-humidity areas like bathrooms and kitchens
  • Guaranteed against fading, yellowing, warping, or bowing
  • Over 60+ finishes closely resembling natural wood grain
  • Wipes clean with a damp cloth — no special maintenance required
  • Heavier construction provides better light block than real wood

Real Wood vs. Faux Wood: Which Should You Choose?

Choose Real Wood if:

  • The room has stable humidity (living room, bedroom, study)
  • You want the lightest possible operating weight on tall windows
  • You are matching existing wood tones in flooring or furniture
  • You want the option of decorative cloth tapes

Choose Faux Wood if:

  • The room has humidity or moisture (bathroom, kitchen, laundry)
  • South- or west-facing windows get intense afternoon sun
  • You want maximum light block without a blackout shade
  • You want the lowest long-term maintenance cost

Room-by-Room Applications

Living & Dining Rooms

Wood blinds pair effortlessly with hardwood floors, exposed beams, and the warm-neutral palette common in Craftsman, Spanish Colonial, and Contemporary homes throughout Los Angeles. Slat-by-slat tilt control lets you angle light precisely — up toward the ceiling to illuminate without glare, or down toward the floor for privacy while keeping rooms bright.

Kitchens

EverWood® faux wood blinds are the workhorse choice for kitchens. They resist grease, steam, and the bleaching effect of direct sun, and they wipe down in seconds. Available in clean whites and soft creams that complement shaker cabinetry, or in dark espresso tones for a more dramatic contrast.

Bathrooms

Standard wood blinds will eventually warp in bathrooms with inadequate ventilation. EverWood® blinds are guaranteed against warping and can handle even the most steam-heavy shower rooms without losing their shape or finish integrity over years of use.

Home Offices & Studies

Precise louver control is a productivity advantage. Tilt slats to redirect light above or below screen level, eliminating glare without drawing the blind closed and making the room feel enclosed. Both 2" and 2½" slat options work well in office settings.

Measurement, Fabrication & Installation

Precise In-Home Measurement

Every blind is custom-cut to the exact width and height measured in your home. Our specialists account for inside-mount depth, outside-mount clearance, and trim interference — details that matter for a clean final fit and smooth operation.

Custom Fabrication

Blinds are built to order. There is no off-the-shelf blind in our line — every slat, tape, and cord set is assembled to your specifications. Typical lead time is three to five weeks depending on finish selection and season.

Professional Installation

Our installation crews handle every step from bracket placement to final cord management. We take care not to damage walls, trim, or existing finishes, and we dispose of all packaging on departure.

Operating & Care Instructions

We walk every client through operating and care basics on installation day. Wood blinds should be dusted regularly and kept dry. EverWood® blinds can be wiped with a damp cloth or mild cleaning solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

What slat size is best for large windows?

The 2½" slat is the right choice for taller windows. Its larger profile creates fewer visual breaks across the window, giving the glass an airier, more open appearance. For standard windows under 48" wide, 2" slats are equally popular and give a slightly more traditional feel.

Can blinds be motorized?

Yes. Both Parkland® wood and EverWood® faux wood blinds are available with motorized tilt-and-lift mechanisms. Motorized blinds are especially practical for wide, heavy windows or high clerestory windows that are difficult to reach manually.

Are cordless blinds safe for homes with children or pets?

Yes — we offer cordless and motorized lift systems that eliminate dangling cords entirely. Cordless operation also gives windows a cleaner appearance with no cord hardware showing on the frame.

Do you serve the San Fernando Valley and other LA suburbs?

Yes. We cover all of Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Bernardino County, and Riverside County. Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Pasadena, and Burbank are all within our regular service area.
